Atomium-European Institute for Science, Media and Democracy (EISMD), convenes leading European universities, media, businesses, governments and policymakers to increase the exchange of information and interdisciplinary collaboration, to develop innovative collaborative initiatives and to encourage frontier thinking about science, media and democracy.
Atomium-EISMD aims at furthering politicians’, policy makers’ and opinion leaders’ understanding of the important role and activities of research-intensive universities.
Atomium-EISMD was launched on the 27 November 2009 at the European Parliament by the former President of France Valéry Giscard d’Estaing, Michelangelo Baracchi Bonvicini -currently Honorary President and President- and the leaders of the institutions engaged in the platform.
