AI4People’s Report “On Good AI Governance”

The 3rd AI4People Forum Meeting – hosted at the at the European Parliament in Brussels on the 6th of November 2019 – brought together more than 50 delegates and several global figures in the areas of government, industry, research and civil society to debate the current challenges of AI – in all its applications – as well as the complexity of current moral and legal issues around AI and its governance.

After a brief welcome address from Maria da Graça Carvalho, Member of the European Parliament and host of the meeting, Prof. Ugo Pagallo -on behalf of AI4People’s Scientific Committee- presented the Report ‘On Good AI Governance: 14 Priority Actions, a S.M.A.R.T. Model of Governance, and a Regulatory Toolbox. Its contents and aims were further discussed in a speech from Tsuneo Nakata (Fujitsu Laboratories Ltd) and Danny Van Roijen (COCIR), followed by a roundtable discussion, chaired by Robert Madelin.
